Neither from waking life nor dreams.
A mystery from those mysteries,
That startle shut and waking eyes.’

Conservation International is delighted to cooperate with Just Forests for the Irish Cinema Premiere in CinemaKILLARNEY of our award-winning short film series Nature is Speakingduring the Killarney Celebration of Trees weekend.  The “Nature Is Speaking” films are CI’s invitation to the human race to listen to nature. Nature’s message to humanity is simple: Nature doesn’t need people. People need nature. CI’s goal is that these films will help spark an international conversation. The best way to start a conversation is with a provocative statement. We want the “Nature Is Speaking” films to serve as a wake-up call — nature’s message must be heard now.

“When I was a kid, bulldozers smashing through forests were a symbol of progress. For me, development is more about growing trees.” Antonio Brack, Peru’s former Minister of the Environment, describes three CI projects that prove that green growth is a viable economic strategy.

 Peruvian AMAZON

Along with the short films listed above, CinemaKILLARNEY will screen ‘Peruvian AMAZON’, one in a series of in depth stories of success.

THESE ARE IN DEPTH STORIES OF CI FIELD SUCCESSES, EACH AN EXAMPLE OF A WAY FORWARD TO TACKLING THE WORLD’S DIFFICULT ENVIRONMENTAL CHALLENGES.  THESE 8 TO 20 MINUTE FILMS, WERE PRODUCED THROUGH THE SONY & CI VISUAL STORYTELLING ALLIANCE.
